Tamed Art
Tamed Art
The remains of the Black Cockatoo’s breakfast become,
with further teasing,
another work of art.
When the Coast Banksias bloom and Black Cockatoos
Rock the branches with their lumbering forms,
their mechanical screech heralds the fall
of blooms in various states of undress.
I gather these gifts and give thanks.
Silver Ash seed pods and fresh tea tree tips
on fallen Melaleuca blossom, Melaleuca nuts with black berries from the Tulip wood tree, Mexican marigold heads, Lilly pilly berries and red flowering gum.
Dried blossom of Callistemon salignus, edged with inflorescence of Fraxinus angustifolia and seeds of Harpullia pendula. A star of Flindersia schottiana pods bearing more inflorescence with a dash of Tea Tree.
